Hydrocolloid

AMS Hydrocolloid dressings contain a blend of synthetic polymers
and hydrophilic powders which provide a self adhesive absorbent
material for wound applications. The hydrocolloid forms a gel
on contact with wound exudate that promotes a moist wound
healing environment.

AMS Hydrocolloid film backed dressing is a two layer construction composed of an absorbent hydrocolloid matrix laminated to a breathable polyurethane fi lm backing.

The AMS Hydrocolloid foam backed dressing is a three
layer construction composed of an absorbent hydrocolloid matrix
backed by a dual layer of polyurethane foam laminated to a
polyurethane fi lm backing.

Performance

AMS Hydrocolloid absorbs exudate into the Hydrocolloid matrix and transports wound exudate fluid through the breathable polyurethane fi lm outer layer.
This hydrocolloid combination enhances the total fluid handling capacity of the dressing whilst also ensuring that moisture is regulated within the wound. This maintains a moist wound environment and prevents the wound from drying out.
