Alginate dressings, produced from seaweed, absorb exudate and donate calcium to the wound area which also helps to stop bleeding. Alginates absorb exudate away from the wound whilst also maintaining an ideal moist wound-healing environment. AMS alginates are available in both rope and felt in two different varieties:
High gelling alginates produce a thick fibrous amorphous gel that locks away exudate whilst also maintaining a moist wound environment. Highly integral alginates absorb wound exudate into the dressing which causes the dressing to swell, this ensures a high wet strength which ensures intact removal from the wound bed.

AMS Cyanoacrylate
Foam wound care dressings use polyurethane foam as an essential part of the micro-porous hydrophilic foam structure. The foam dressings have a unique ability to absorb high amounts of exudate whilst also ensuring the dressing can remain in place for prolonged wear times. The hydrophilic foam matrix has a flexible breathable film (Foam NA) and membrane (Foam Border) backing which ensures moisture can be transferred through the dressing, this allows a high fluid handling capability whilst also providing a waterproof microbial barrier. The composition of our foam dressing ensures the dressings remains comfortable, protective and easy to apply.

AMS Foam Product
AMS Hydrocolloid dressing range has been designed to provide improved absorbency, enhanced patient comfort and remain integral throughout patient wear time. AMS Hydrocolloid dressings provide an ideal moist wound environment that promotes healing through autolytic debridement of slough and necrotic tissue, whilst promoting granulation. The range incorporates three versions; a thin film backed (0.4mm), a thick film backed (0.6mm) and a thick foam backed (1mm) version.

AMS Hydrocolloids Product
Amorphous Hydrogels are used on necrotic or sloughy wounds to add moisture in order to debride the dead tissue. They are also suitable for use in cavity wounds and on granulating and epithilising wounds where additional moisture might be beneficial.
The standard AMS gel is a good fluid donator. Sterile gels, or preserved gels, can be supplied in tubes in a range of sizes.
